Multicultural Feasting for Harmony Week 2026

Harmony Week is a national celebration of Australia’s cultural diversity, bringing together people from all backgrounds to recognise inclusion, respect and belonging.

This year, Harmony Week was celebrated from 16 to 22 March, with WATC staff embracing the occasion through a Potluck Feast organised by the HR team. Staff were invited to bring and share a dish from their own culture or one they simply enjoyed.

The Potluck Feast celebrated our cultural diversity, a key element of WATC’s inclusive and welcoming workplace. Recognising food as an important form of cultural expression and bringing staff together to share dishes from around the world created an event focused on diversity, participation, learning and mutual respect.

A highlight of the event was the impressive? selection of food, with 18 contributors bringing dishes from 17 different nations. The diverse selection of sweet, savoury and spicy dishes reflected the rich cultural backgrounds and culinary skills of WATC staff. It was a success.

Beyond the food, the event encouraged connection. Colleagues shared stories, cultural experiences and traditions, creating an environment that further strengthened relationships, while reinforcing a sense of inclusiveness, respect and belonging.

The event offered more than just a chance to enjoy great food. By sharing stories, cultural experiences and traditions, colleagues built stronger connections and further reinforced WATC’s culture of inclusiveness, respect and belonging, making the Potluck Feast a huge success!
