Hands-On First Aid Training for WATC Staff

To help build first aid knowledge and confidence, two training sessions were delivered on 19 February and 19 May.

Presented by St John Ambulance WA, the course included both online learning and practical exercises held at the WATC office, with the second session introduced following strong staff interest.

In line with accreditation requirements, WATC provides First Aid and CPR training on a three year cycle. The cycle begins with combined First Aid and CPR training, followed by CPR-only refresher training in years two and three. As 2026 marked the first year of the cycle, participants completed training in both First Aid and CPR.

The sessions helped staff refresh and build practical, life saving skills for both home and workplace safety, while supporting personal confidence and contributing to overall wellbeing.
