Information included in this section is designed to assist people seeking to purchase State Bonds as a designated investment to complete their application to migrate to Australia under the following category of migration: Business Innovation and Investment Program – Investor stream. WATC’s involvement in the migration application process is limited to the provision of a designated investment.

Are you a US Citizen?

Western Australian State Bonds have not been and will not be registered under the United States of America Securities Act or the securities laws of any state of the United States (as defined in Regulation S under the Securities Act of 1993) and as such Western Australian State Bonds may not be offered or sold within the United States of America.

How To Apply

State Bonds satisfy guidelines issued by the Department of Home Affairs and are offered as a designated investment under the Business Innovation and Investment Visa (Provisional) (subclass 188). An information package is available that contains the following information:

  • a statement of terms and conditions
  • an instruction sheet for investing
  • an application form.

Important Lodgement Information

Please ensure that you do not lodge an application to purchase your designated investment until you have received written notification from Department of Home Affairs.

Immigration Investment Bond Rates

The interest rate for a designated investment shown below is an indicative rate only and is provided to give you a reasonable guide to the actual rate that will be fixed to your investment based on the date of receipt of the full amount of your investment funds. The indicative interest rate below reflects prevailing market conditions as at 4 January 2024.

Terms and Conditions

In accordance with Department of Home Affairs’ guidelines, State Bonds as a designated investment are non-transferable and non-redeemable prior to maturity. However, after receiving written confirmation from Department of Home Affairs, Western Australian Treasury Corporation (WATC) will repurchase your designated investment should your personal circumstances change resulting in either the issue of a different visa for which a designated investment is not required or revocation of your existing visa.

WATC does not charge transaction or management fees for a designated investment. Your bank and/or its intermediary bank may, on the other hand, charge you a fee for transferring your investment funds to WATC’s bank account. Payment of this fee is your responsibility. Please ensure the amount of the fee is not deducted from the money you are using to purchase your designated investment.
