Infrastructure Program ICMA Alignment

Supporting the State's commitment to climate mitigation, environmental resilience, and social equity.

Infrastructure Program Assessment

WATC’s green and regular bond issuances, including floating rate notes, support the delivery of the Western Australian Government’s infrastructure program as outlined in the 2025–26 State Budget. For the $38 billion of forward infrastructure spending commitments outlined in the State Budget, WATC has undertaken an internal assessment to determine the extent to which the parliamentary-approved forward infrastructure program aligns with the International Capital Market Association (ICMA)’s Green and Social Bond Principles (GBP and SBP). This analysis provides indicative, high-level context for investors.

Results show nearly 80 per cent alignment

Our results show that approximately 80 per cent of the committed infrastructure program budget aligns with GBP and SBP categories, for which WATC's entire borrowing program plays an important role in contributing to the funding required.
